The Guardian Vision History

Our Vision, History and Business/Product Philosophy:

Guardian Technologies International, Inc. has, from its inception, pursued a corporate vision focused on image management, analysis and knowledge extraction from digital images. This principal and core business strategy is directed at two key vertical market segments; US and international governments and industries focused on transportation security and threat item detection, and the healthcare industry specifically focused on radiology and digital image management and analysis applications.

Our strategic acquisition of Difference Engines in December 2003 provided Guardian with a uniquely designed predictive image compression technology. In July 2004, Guardian purchased Wise Healthcare Systems, Ltd., a pioneer in radiology informatics and IT, and fully integrated our acquired compression technologies to provide Guardian with a superior product platform.

Our Guardian Healthcare Division, has, since the acquisition of Wise, made significant investments in the acquired RIS platform adding features and functionality to fully develop a complete RIS/PACS system in a single, seamless and scalable web services application. At RSNA 2004, Guardian is introducing, FlowPoint , a comprehensive, Radiology Information and Image Management System incorporating these extensive enhancements to the Wise Systems' integrated product . Based on an innovative web services product architecture, this unique offering provides feature-rich clinical and business radiology functions aligning information technologies with users and processes, designed to maximize the clinical and financial value of radiology to the healthcare enterprise.

In this rapidly growing digital image market, many smaller hospitals and Imaging Centers are now transitioning “to digital”. To assist these enterprises in making this conversion we at Guardian have positioned ourselves to provide a “Low Cost of Total Ownership” business approach. By embracing open systems architecture principles, supporting industry standards and taking advantage of commercial off-the-shelf technologies, Guardian maximizes the efficient use of our clients' hardware and software resources. Our systems design approach, combined with Guardian's flexible pricing programs, affords our clients a economical transition to “digital”.

The Guardian FlowPoint RIS/PACS is a next-generation, intelligent, adaptive solution for the radiology enterprise that logically integrates images, voice and data. Via an open systems integration with existing infrastructure, our FlowPoint RIS/PACS solution enables workflow for any third-party DICOM-compliant PACS and may supplement or replace the PACS with its inherent imaging capabilities to uniquely suit the client requirements, migration strategy, budgets and timeframes.

Our FlowPoint intelligent imaging information system delivers more personal integrated workflow experiences to users via a new breed of smart technologies designed to integrate with and fully service the entire radiology enterprise. Guardian's feature-rich web services RIS/PACS solution has been designed to be configurable and scalable to meet their current and future needs.

Guardian's vision and focus, healthcare experience and knowledge, innovative technology design and client partnering approach to “managing the business of radiology”, will provide your healthcare enterprise with valuable options to help you meet and exceed your radiology needs and challenges.
