British Government Reveals Scanners Fail to Detect Most Explosives

HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - 01/11/10) - Guardian Technologies International (OTCBB:GDTI - News) -- President Obama on January 7th called for the development of next-generation screening technologies to address explosives detection and privacy issues related to whole body scanners. It was a highly commendable example of candor, insight and initiative. The assessment could not have been more accurate. President Obama acknowledged what experts have known for a long time -- there is a security gap in passenger checkpoint screening. No matter the advances in scanning hardware, or improvements in the quality of produced images, or intensified training of TSA agents, the security gap will remain until the underlying, fundamental problem is addressed. Explosive threats have no recognizable shape, and therefore, exceed the human capability to identify objects

"This is the world of Guardian Technologies. We exist to add value when machine limitations and human vision fail to identify security threats," noted Michael Trudnak, CEO of Guardian Technologies International..

Only advanced machine recognition software can accurately and consistently differentiate between the minute and distinctive differences that substances exhibit. Guardian Technologies has consistently proven that its PinPoint(TM) threat detection and identification technology can differentiate explosives from non-explosives, even those non-explosive materials known to repeatedly cause "false alarms." As an example of PinPoint's high sensitivity, it can distinguish between H2O (water) and H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) -- substances separated by a single molecule.

PinPoint Benefits:

  • Accurate detection of threats.
  • Single digit "false alarm" rates.
  • Applicable for all scanner platforms and modalities, including backscatter and millimeter wave.
  • PinPoint Privacy View application for body scanners maintains absolute personal privacy. (Link to multimedia:http://www.guardiantechintl.com/privateviewbodyscan.php)
